Kristin Bryden
Associate Winemaker
Kristin Bryden joined Lockwood Vineyard in 2007 as Associate Winemaker. At the winery, she oversees all operations, while constantly working to craft the highest quality wines with winegrapes from the Lockwood Estate Vineyard.
The Lockwood winery is built in the middle of the Estate vineyard, allowing Bryden to personally follow the fruit from picking to finished wine in the bottle. “Spending the entire year at the vineyard is the key to understanding how to make the best wines possible from this fruit,” she says. “Mother Nature shapes our growing seasons and ultimately defines the flavors in our wine.”
Prior to Lockwood, Bryden worked at Wild Horse Winery, where she gained in-depth experience with a diverse collection of varietals, especially Pinot Noir. She brought this knowledge to Lockwood Vineyard where she helps Winemaker Larry Gomez make wines that ultimately express the vineyard.
A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Bryden holds a bachelors degree in Food Science. When not at the winery or in the vineyard, she can be found road biking, snowboarding, water skiing or camping, depending on the time of year.
