| Lockwood Vineyard 2005 Pinot Noir Block 7: Match Game - We recommend wines that

for them at your local wine store. Goes well with Chimichurri Steak,
Chicken or Pork Chops with Asparagus and Tomatoe Couscous. Forestry scents of mushroom dusted
red fruit develop in the bowl of this velvety soft and gentle Pinot
Noir. On the palate, it's cool and spicy with a strong puch of sweet
cooked berries and subtle baking spice. Light enough for roasted
quail but could hold its own against a steak. 90 points "Medium Intensity with a ruby
color. Aromas of black cherries, roses, and spice with a hint of
cranberry. Tastes of dark fruit." 92 points Attractive aromas of cedar box, licorice
and mocha. Crisp cranberry flavors laced with a smoky earthiness.
Drying, youthful tannins punctuate the finish. 88 points Lockwood Vineyard 2005 Sauvignon Blanc: Pale ivory hue. Lemon grass and clove
aromas with a secondary herbal note. Fresh and lively, with crisp
citrus, chalk and vanilla flavors. Zesty, tart finish with a defined
lemon drop accent. Light to Medium bodied with intense
aromas of grapefruit that carries over onto the palate with a sweet/tart
character extending onto the medium finish. Sea Bass piperade. Lockwood Vineyard 2005 Chardonnay: Tropical aromas with hints of pear.
Good acidity with flavors of caramelized banana and ripe pear. Seared
scallops with a banana and ripe pear compte. Oaky and simple, with apricot and
tropical fruit flavors and creamy texture brightened with clean
acidity. This is a pretty good price for a fresh Monterey Chardonnay. The 05 Vintage of this Chardonnay
is a little lighter than the 04. The aroma is muted but wine has
a nice acidity for balance and the melon and tropical flavors are
round and ... Lockwood Vineyard 2005 Melot: Fresh scents of wild cherry and raspberry
with a noticeable whiff of alcohol. Soft tannins and juicy flavors
of raspberry and wild cherry. Hints of tomato leaf in the finish.
87 points Medium to full bodied with rich red
fruit and flowers on the nose and palate; good intensity and depth;
smooth, persistent finish. Lockwood Vineyard 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon: Full bodied with ripe red and black
fruit and licorice on the nose and palate; moderate tannins and
finish. Lockwood Vineyard 2005 Syrah: Is a little peppery, with blackberry
fruit and firm, drying tannins. A little rustic, but not bad for the
price. This rugged wine brims with cherries, blackberries, spices
and herbs, and will happily wash down a barbecue. 83 points Lockwood Vineyard 2004 Partner's Reserve Red: For those who liked the facinating
Monterey Cabernets from the 1980's, this wine is a classy reminiscence,
with an aroma that hints at eucalyptus and pine, and with excellent
structure to match with steaks. Aromas of baked raspberry, vanilla,
and smoky oak introduced light bodied, somewhat tart, juicy flavors
of cedar, baked raspberry, and vanilla plus tannin. The medium-broad
finish shows persistent baked raspberry. 800 cases, contains 95%
Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec. Wine comprised of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon
and 5% Malbec. Produced in Monterey, CA and aged in French oak,
the wine is said to display black cherry fruit, toasty oak and firm
tannins. Rich and complex with aromas and flavors
of blackberry, roast coffee, black cherry, and spice; excellent
length in the finish. Rack of lamb.
